PORTFOLIO
The horizon is often used as a metaphor of hope for the future. In a time of political division, social unrest, and a health crisis, I created these paintings to ground myself and meditate on the horizon. This work has been created during 2020 while on sabbatical from teaching. It is inspired by the landscape of New England and the ever-changing color and light of the seasons. By making sketches and studies out in the landscape and then bringing them into my studio for development, I am able to capture a moment of time and the beauty of nature.
