PORTFOLIO

The horizon is often used as a metaphor for hope for the future. In a time of political division, social unrest, and a health crisis, I created these paintings to ground myself and meditate on the horizon. This work began in 2020 while on sabbatical from teaching. It is inspired by the landscape of New England and the ever-changing color and light of the seasons. By making sketches and studies while out in the landscape and bringing them into my studio for development, I can capture a moment in time and the beauty of nature for future meditation..
